Root Mounting Plate for Sandbanks & Poole Bollards – Zinc-Plated Steel

Description

This root mounting plate is a zinc-plated steel anchoring disc designed for use with Garden Zone Sandbanks and Poole bollards. The 136mm diameter top plate provides four bolt holes around a central cable entry point, while three 80mm steel legs extending from the underside anchor the plate into fresh concrete during installation. The zinc plating provides corrosion resistance when the plate is set below grade in the concrete base.

Used during bollard installation, the root plate is positioned in the fresh concrete mix with the legs pointing downwards, creating a permanent anchor point for the bollard to bolt onto once the concrete has cured. The plate sits flush with or just below the finished surface level, with the bollard base then bolting down onto the exposed disc. This method gives a more secure fixing than surface mounting alone, particularly in exposed coastal or high-wind locations.
