Description

This IC-rated tilt downlight cover is a 71mm black polycarbonate accessory designed to clip onto adjustable downlights in the Valknight range. The IC rating allows the downlight to be installed in direct contact with loft insulation without compromising fire safety or thermal integrity, which is required under UK Building Regulations when downlights penetrate insulated ceilings.

The cover clips onto the rear of compatible Valknight tilt downlights before installation, creating a sealed enclosure that prevents insulation from entering the lamp housing and blocking ventilation apertures. This maintains the downlight’s thermal management and prevents overheating when insulation is laid over the fitting. The 50mm projection from the rear of the downlight gives sufficient clearance for the lamp holder and wiring connections within the cover.
