Description

The Knightsbridge FR600 is a square fire hood measuring 620 x 620 x 200mm (external), designed to provide 60-minute fire protection for MRB, MRD and MRE modular recessed ceiling fittings. Constructed from intumescent material that expands under heat to seal gaps and slow fire spread, the hood creates a barrier between the void above the ceiling and the room below.

Installed in commercial, industrial and residential ceiling voids where recessed luminaires are fitted into fire-rated ceilings, the hood maintains the ceiling’s structural fire rating by containing combustion within the void for up to 60 minutes. The 220mm minimum void requirement accommodates the hood depth plus clearance above the recessed fitting. Internal support rods and bulldog-style clips hold the hood in position over the fitting without requiring separate fixing points to the ceiling structure.
